This Past Semester

 みなさん、こんにちは！

This past semester has been an absolute blast getting to learn a brand new language, something I haven't really had the pleasure of doing in the classroom setting since middle school. What had started off as just signing up for Japanese as a way to maybe understand some of what I'm watching grew into far more as I really had fun getting to come into class every week starting from the basics of ひらがなとカタカナ to piecing together sentences and having actual conversations in class with my classmates. Even the events such as さくらまつり, I had a blast even if that meant singing 光るならとはるがきた in front of a crowd for the first time ever. 

I'm very excited with the amount I was able learn and pick up this semester; however I still have quite a ways to go hence why I plan to continue this learning journey throughout the remainder of what little time I have here at Notre Dame, and I hope to learn much more.

にちようびーWhat I did

 みなさん、こんにちは！

私はせんしゅうのにちようび、十じごろおきました。それから、シャワーをあびましたそして一人でしょくどうにいきました。しょくどうでたまごとパンケーキをためました。それから、ごご一じごろジョギングをしました。それから、三じごろともだちとゲームをしました。フォトナイトをしました。そして、ともだちとしょくどうでばんごはんをたべました。それから、九じごろ一人でゲームをしました。マインクラフトとベートセーブルをしました。ごぜん一じごろねました。

さくらまつりーMy Experience

 みなさん、こんにちは！

せんしゅうのしゅうまつ、さくらまつりのためにアクターをしました。にちようびのあさ、わたしわスクリプトをたくさんよみました。そして、わたしのへやでうたをうたいました。でも、ぜんぜんともだちとうたいませんでした。パフォーマンスのあとで、パフォーマンスをたくさんみました。

I had a lot of fun at the Sakura Matsuri event on Sunday! It was fun to see all the other performances from groups of people who are all at different stages of learning Japanese and getting to see those who were further along in their learning and seeing what they were able to do was really cool. Now as far as our performance went, I think it went well, though I wish I had established earlier that I've really never sang in front of a crowd, let alone in a different language. I tried to embrace it the best that I could and understand that it's all for fun at the end of the day and I'm sure those in the crowd understood that I clearly was not built for singing on a stage. I did practice all through the morning though going through the song time and time again to try and get a better idea for tone and everything. Apparently according to Airbuds, it was my most played song last week. (the screenshot says 6 times but it was definitely more than that.

わたしはマサチューセッツのボストンにかえりませんでした。きのうひる、ひとりでジョギングをしました。それから、ともだちとちょくどうでばんごはんをたべました。ひるごはんをたべませんでした。それから、わたしのへやでしゅくだいをしました。それから、ともだちとええがをみました。そして、ひとりでゲームをしました。「Mostly working on a house in Minecraft which the extent of my progress is just the outline as shown below」
